IHSA Western Semi Finals in Pomona, CA
Cal Poly University hosted the Western semi-finals for Collegiate riding on March 24-25, 2007 at Fairplex Park . Student from all over the country came to compete, with hopes of advancing to the Finals. In Intercollegiate shows, riders do not bring their own horses. Instead, they draw for their horses just prior to the class and receive no warm-up time. Sounds challenging!

OURCONTRIBUTORS

A fairly new addition to DOG FANCY's team of contributing photographers, Tara Gregg believes her work reflects her love of the subjects she photographs and her appreciation for their unique personalities and beauty. A former equestrian student, Gregg's photography career stems from her knowledge of exercising and breaking racehorses, which led to photographing them, and finally to capturing images of all types of animals - including dogs, of course. "It's very entertaining to watch them because they aren't self conscious and are much more open than people," Gregg says about her animal models. Gregg's additional projects include building up her portfolio (www.sporthorsephotography.net) and becoming more involved in dog and horse rescue causes by using her photographs as a medium of communication.
